The skinny bitch is finally getting with the program.

It's that time again. The fat chick vs the scale.
Remember last week when I said that I would have progress to report?
Has the suspense been killing you? Was she serious this time, for the love of all things fat and in need of a good ass-kicking, or was she just blowing smoke up our skirts?
Well, peeps, I am happy to say that I have finally started to turn the worm (or something).
Don't get too excited. The scale isn't showing any progress. In fact, it is my enemy this week. I gained 1.8 since my last weigh in, which was a couple weeks ago.
I'm not really stressing over that though. I'm not happy about it, but that isn't new.
Remember last week when I said that my goal for this week was non scale related? Remember when I said that my goal was to master the stripper pole at Spanks (just testing you)?
For those of you who weren't reading last week, my goal was to find my motivation and finally kick that inner skinny bitch into gear.
Did I do it? You bet your fat little ass!
I may have gained on the scale, but I was a loser otherwise (you know what I mean) because I actually got my fat ass moving. I walked 1/2 the neighborhood with the pup on two seperate days. I did yoga on two days also. The first day of yoga ended with me yelling at the tv because I was so out of shape and it was clearly their fault, but I still did it. Today, I did Slim in 6, minus the squat segment because my lower back was too tight for that particular exercise. Then, I did another session of yoga.
The inner skinny bitch is back and she's ready to bust free!
It's about damn time, but I have finally had enough of being a fat ass. I have finally reached the point where I am ready to do this. Really do this.
So, onward and downward for next week. My goal is to focus on the exercise. I want to exercise 4 days next week. My plan is to make a workout schedule for the week and stick to it. I also want to focus on better meal planning so I can eat healthier. As for the scale, I hope to see a loss, but I'm not going to stress over it yet. I'm going to start with the other changes and go from there.
I'm excited to see how you guys did this week. Hope everyone had a good week.
If you're interested, I want to share a recipe I tried this week. My only suggestion is to leave the squash out. I think it would be better without it. Enjoy!
Also, did anyone else watch Kirstie Alley's Big Life? What did you think?
Spinach Lasagna
9 lasagna noodles
2 medium yellow squash, but lengthwise into 1/4 inch slices
1 16 ounce container fat free cottage cheese
1 10 ounce package frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
3 cups shredded part skim mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1 garlic glove, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 24 ounce jar marinara sauce
Cook the noodles according to package directions. Drain, rinse and set aside.
Spray a large nonstick skillet with nonstick spray and set over medium high heat. Add the squash and cook until golden, 2-3 minutes per side. Set aside.
Combine the cottage cheese, spinach, 2 cups of the mozzarella, 1/4 cup of the parmesan, the eggs, basil, garlic and salt.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Spread 1 cup sauce in a 9x13 baking dish. Top with 3 noodles, 2 cups filling and the squash.
Top with 3 noodles, 1 cup sauce, and the remaining filling.
Top with remaining noodles, sauce and cheeses.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover. Bake 20 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Points value 6.

  1. I haven't seen Kirstie Alley's new show, but I think I'd like it. I'm not a big fan of hers, but loved the previews and thought, "maybe she'll be able to motivate me". I know the motivation needs to come from inside, but my inner motivator is on the couch eating pork rinds.

  2. I saw some of the show, but to be honest, I'm not a huge Kirstie Alley fan. I was so excited for her when she went on Oprah to lose weight the first time around, but I felt like she was being dishonest about her weight. She's around 5'7" I believe, and claimed that the largest she had ever been, which was at that time, was 206lbs. Now, I'm 5'5", and at my highest weight of 225lbs I looked smaller than her. I just found it disappointing that she wasn't being totally honest.

Anyways... congrats on achieving your goal! The scale will catch up...

  3. Way to stay positive!, Don't ever give up. It took my husband a year but he has lost 45 lbs so far. I think when his weight loss hit a wall, it was just his body taking a rest from all the changes. I have no doubt that you will meet all your goals.
    Lots of love, Mismaelstrom

  4. YAY SKINNY BITCH! Nice to hear from you again. Stick around this time - I like chatting with you - you're good company and good motivation for me :)

    I knew you'd come back.

  5. I heart comments. Thanks everyone.
I'll have to keep that in mind about Kirstie's dishonesty. The show was pretty funny though. More self deprecating fat humor than true motivation so far. Maybe that will change.

  6. "The first day of yoga ended with me yelling at the tv because I was so out of shape and it was clearly their fault..."

*rubs eyes* Me? Is that you? Yeah. Totally do this, too. Damned TV making be all out of shape and inflexible! *shakes fist*

Good for you! Sounds like you're doing awesome. :)
